We are happy to announce that we have a limited supply of bulk pork orders available! We are only selling two whole pigs this year, so do not wait too long or you may miss out!
Pasture-raised pork is a type of pork derived from pigs that are raised in open areas rather than being confined to indoor facilities or feedlots. This farming method prioritizes the welfare of the animals and promotes environmental sustainability.
Our Pigs
Idaho Pasture Pigs (IPP): We purchased our pigs from DownPine Farm in Trenton, Ohio in April 2025.
What are Idaho Pasture Pigs? Idaho Pasture Pigs (aka IPPs) are a triple cross of three heritage breeds - Original Duroc, Old Berkshire, and Kune Kune. They have the prized gourmet meat of Berkshire pork renowned for its rich color, superior taste and texture. They have the hardiness and mothering ability of the Duroc. They possess the sweet disposition and inclination to graze with a medium-length snout of the Kune Kune, that makes them less capable of digging deep field ruts.
Putting it all together - you have a gentle breed of pigs who are excellent grazers that produce a remarkable red, marbled carcass with butter-like fat and old-world flavor.
Natural Pig Lifestyle: Our pigs lead a charmed life, rotating through pasture and wooded areas. They spent one week in our barn being trained to an electric fence before being moved outside. The pigs are moved to new ground roughly every 10 days and not to exceed 12 days in one location. This holistic approach ensures they're always content and well-cared for.
Feed: In addition to the food obtained by foraging the woods, the pigs are fed non-GMO/organic feed. We add minerals to enhance their health that include Fertrell Swine Nutribalancer, charcoal, diatomaceous earth, probiotic, fish meal and kelp. The pigs receive food scraps from our garden and kitchen as treats.
Growth: The pigs are expected to be about 225lbs of live weight at the time of processing scheduled for December 12th, 2025.
Our Process
- In order to purchase a pig, we will need a deposit of $100. You can pay this deposit here.
- In order to purchase a half-pig portion, we will need a deposit of $50. You can pay this deposit here.
- After we have received your deposit, we will assign you a pig by number.
- You have two options:
1. Pick up your pig at the farm.
- For obvious reasons, this option is available for whole pig orders only.
- If you choose this option, we will discuss a convenient time for both of us and will help you load your pig onto the trailer.
- Your final payment for the pig will be due at the time of pick up.
- We have chosen to use Fleming Meat Packers at 233 Railroad St. Flemingsburg, KY. We have used their services for a few years and are happy with the final products.
- We will deliver the pig to the processor where a final live weight will be obtained. You will receive a final invoice for the purchase of the pig at $3.50/lb of live weight (minus your deposit).
- We can deliver your pig to the processor for you, but this will be YOUR pig, and you are responsible for any processing fees imposed by Fleming Meat Packers.
- You will be responsible for picking up the finished product at the facility when processing is complete.
Price
- The price for your pig is $3.50/lb and will require a deposit of $100, or $50 for a half pig portion. If for unseen circumstances, something happens to the pig prior to the processing date, your deposit will be returned to you in full.
