Pastured Pork - USDA Inspected Portions

Pastured pork is a type of pork derived from pigs that are raised in open areas rather than being confined to indoor facilities. This farming method prioritizes the welfare of the animals and promotes environmental sustainability.

In our pasture-raised system, the pigs have ample space to roam, root, and exhibit natural behaviors, which contributes to their overall health and well-being. They are free to graze on natural grasses, forage for roots, and even indulge in natural treats like fallen fruits and nuts. A varied diet results in pork that has a richer flavor and superior texture compared to conventionally raised pork.

Our pork offers consumers a high-quality, ethically produced meat that reflects a commitment to animal welfare, environmental stewardship, and delicious, flavorful pork products.

Our Pigs

Our pigs were locally sourced from a small Kentucky farm. They enjoyed the variety of rotating through pasture and wooded areas. The pigs were moved every 6 to 10 days. In addition to the food obtained by foraging the woods, the pigs were given a swine grower ration that we mixed ourselves. The ration included corn, soybeans, oats, Fertrell Fish Meal, RC Gold 4x (from Fertrell) and Swine Grower Premix minerals (from Fertrell). The pigs received food scraps from our garden and kitchen as treats.
