Sirloin Tip Roast
Our Sirloin Tip Roast is a lean, flavorful cut that offers the perfect balance of tenderness and hearty beef flavor. A versatile roast from the hindquarter of the animal, it's an excellent choice for a family dinner, Sunday roast, or slow-cooked meal.
This Sirloin Tip Roast comes from our Dexter/Angus cross cattle, a heritage breed well-suited to pasture-based systems. Raised at Growing Roots Farm using rotational grazing practices, our beef is 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, producing naturally flavorful beef with excellent texture and depth of flavor.
Cooking Suggestions & Temperature Guidance
Sirloin tip roast is best cooked slowly and gently to preserve tenderness:
- Best methods: Oven roasting, slow roasting, or slow cooker
- Heat: Low to moderate heat
- Seasoning: Salt, pepper, garlic, herbs, or your favorite roast seasoning
- Tip: Because this is a lean cut, avoid overcooking and slice thinly against the grain
- Finish: Rest 10–15 minutes before slicing
Internal Temperature:
- Rare: 125–130°F
- Medium-rare: 130–135°F
- Medium: 140–145°F
- Medium-well: 150°F+
- Well-done: 160°F+
For the best texture, we recommend cooking to medium-rare to medium and allowing the roast to rest before slicing.
