We have pigs available for sale! Now is the time to reserve your spot to fill your freezer with great pasture raised pork.
Here’s some information on the pigs:
- They are a mixture of Hereford and Gloucester Old Spot (GOS).
- They were purchased directly from a farm in Flemingsburg, KY in April 2023.
- They spent a week in our barn being trained on the electric fence before being moved to the wooded pasture area on our property.
- The pigs are rotated to new ground at roughly every 10 days and never to exceed 12 days in one location.
- In addition to the food obtained by foraging the woods, the pigs were given a swine grower ration that we mixed ourselves.
- Up to 110 pounds:

- The pigs have received food scraps from our garden, kitchen and a local produce farmer that are provided as treats.
- Up to 110 pounds:
- The pigs are expected to be around 250 lbs live weight at the time of processing (October). Here is a picture of the pigs in August 2023.
- The price for your pig is $2.25/lb and will require a deposit of $100. If for unseen circumstances, something happens to the pig prior to the processing date, your deposit will be returned to you in full.
If you want to purchase a pig, here is the process:
- Contact us directly through email or social media messenger.
- We will send you an invoice for the deposit.
- You will be assigned a pig by number (#1-8).
- You have two options:
- Pick up your pig at the farm.
- If you choose this option, we will discuss a convenient time for both of us and will help you load your pig onto the trailer.
- Your final payment for the pig will be due at the time of pick up.
- Pick up your meat at the processor.
- We have chosen to use Fleming Meat Packers at 233 Railroad St. Flemingsburg, KY. We have heard good things about their work and will have our own pigs processed at this facility.
- We have processing dates scheduled for October 7th and 14th.
- We will deliver the pig to the processor where a final live weight will be obtained. You will receive a final invoice for the purchase of the pig at $2.25/lb of live weight (minus your deposit).
- Per the processor's normal procedures, your pig will be given a tattooed number and assigned to your name. We will contact you with the processor's number of your pig.
- You will then discuss how you want your pig processed with the facility. There are many options.
- We can deliver your pig to the processor for you, but this will be YOUR pig and you are responsible for any processing fees imposed by Fleming Meat Packers.
- Quoted processing fees as of June 2023 (subject to change):
- $20 kill fee
- $0.60 per pound
- No additional cost for sausage (4 flavors)
- $5 cured bacon
- $12 ham, shoulder
- $3 jowl
IMPORTANT NOTE: You are purchasing a live pig from us, and the purchase is based on the live weight of the animal. You are paying the facility for the service of processing your pig and will be based on the hanging weight of the animal.
- You will be responsible for picking up the finished product at the facility when processing is complete.
